Bhubaneswar: ICAR-CIWA Celebrated its Foundation Day on March 5, 2018. During this occasion, a Technology Demonstration Mela was also organized in which 150 farmwomen from different corners of Odisha had participated. The Hon’ ble DDG (Education), ICAR, New Delhi, Dr. Narendra Singh Rathore, had graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The Vice Chancellor OUAT, Bhubaneswar, Prof. (Dr.) S. Pasupalak was the Guest of Honour.
Director ICAR-IIWM, Bhubaneswar, Dr. S. K. Ambast and Dr. B. R. Pillai from Central Institute for Fresh water Aquaculture, Bhubaneswar were the special Guest of this occasion. Besides, there were many other Dignitaries from ICAR, SAUs and & NGOs who attended the function. At the outset of this event, The Director of the Institute, Dr. S.K. Srivastava welcomed all the Delegates and highlighted the significant achievements of the Institute. Dr. Narendra Singh Rathore during his presidential address, signified the important role of CIWA in achieving women empowerment in agriculture and allied fields. In the Technology Demonstration Mela, the farm women were demonstrated with various women friendly technologies developed and identified by ICAR-CIWA. In addition, there were also 10 exhibition stalls, exhibiting the advanced agricultural technologies. A Farmer-Scientist Interface was also organized in which the queries of farm women were answered by the Expert team of CIWA. The Awardees of Vigilance Awareness, farm women & ICAR-CIWA Personnel were recognized with certificates. At the end of the function, the formal vote of thanks was extended by Dr. Sabita Mishra, Nodal officer Foundation day.
