Reiterating the Union Government’s commitment to stop ‘brain drain’ and turn it into ‘brain gain’, Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Prakash Javadekar on Tuesday announced that the Government is contemplating to build better research infrastructures in the country at a cost of Rs 20,000 crore.
“India lacks in innovation therefore, turn this adversary into your strength,” he said while addressing the students, particularly the graduating students, of the university, which was set up here in 2009 to impart holistic and value-integrated education with a mission to create centers of excellence in knowledge and research.

He also indicated that his Ministry is working towards reducing the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the All India Council for Technical Education’s (AICTE) control and giving more autonomy to higher education institutions so that these institutions get more freedom for better education and research.
