Honda Cars India flags off the 8thedition of ‘Drive to Discover’

Bagdogra: Honda Cars India (HCIL), leading manufacturer of passenger cars in India flagged off the 8thedition of its popular journey series ‘Drive to Discover’ from Bagdogra, West Bengal to The land of Thunder Dragon – Bhutan. The drive coincides with HCIL celebrating the sales milestone of 3 lakh i-DTEC diesel engine models in India.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Yoichiro Ueno, President & CEO, Honda Cars India Ltd. said,“Drive to Discover is one of our most awaited annual drive event in India and is keenly followed by our fans and customers. This year we enter into its 8thedition and drive across from India into Bhutan.” “The theme of this year’s drive is ‘3 lakh i-DTEC Journeys’ which marks Honda’s 3 lakh sales milestone of revolutionary 1.5L i-DTEC diesel engine models in India,” he added.

23 auto enthusiasts from leading media houses will participate in the rally driving the Premium hatchback Honda Jazz, family sedan Honda Amaze, Sporty Lifestyle Vehicle Honda WR-V, India’s loved sedan Honda City, versatile Honda BR-V, Premium SUV Honda CR-V and the very advanced Honda Accord Hybrid.

The drive begins from Bagdograin West Bengal and will pass through monasteries, fortresses (or dzongs) and picturesque landscapes that range from subtropical plains to steep mountains and valleys ofBhutan. The rally will cover unexplored terrain and natural scenic beauty of Phuensholing, Paro and Thimpu. The participants will get an opportunity to visit the famous Paro Taktsang (Tiger’s Nestmonastery), a prominent Himalayan Buddhist sacred site and the temple on the Cliffside of the upper Paro valley. The drive will conclude on September 16th, 2017 at Bagdogra after covering a journey of more than 700 kilometers.
