Mumbai: Hero MotoCorp, the country’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, sold a mammoth three lakh motorcycles and scooters in a single day, the highest-ever by any company across the globe.
“This festive season has been a blockbuster for Hero MotoCorp. The highest-ever single day retail sales of well over three lakh units on Dhanteras comes on the back of what has been a season of new global records for Hero. We sold a record 7-lakh units in September, the highest ever in monthly sales by any company and also sold over two million units in the second Quarter,” a senior Company official told PTI on the condition of anonymity.
Hero MotoCorp recently surpassed 75 million units of two-wheelers in cumulative sales since its inception.
Hero MotoCorp also set a new global record by clocking 2 million unit sales in the just-concluded second quarter (July-September) of this financial year (FY 2017-18). It sold 20,22,805 units of two-wheelers in the second quarter, growing by 11% over the large volume of the corresponding quarter in the previous fiscal.
In September this year, it became the only two-wheeler company to sell over 7 lakh two-wheelers in a month.
