Bhubaneswar: The Depression over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal and north coastal Odisha moved slightly westwards and intensified into a deep depression and lay centered, the Regional Meteorological Centre said today.
It is very likely to more west-northwestwards and cross West Bengal coast close to Digha during next few hours. It is very likely to continue to move west-northwestwards and weaken gradually into a well marked low during nest 24 hours.
Under its impact, rain/ thundershowers is very likely to occur at most places over districts of Odisha during nest 24 hours and at many places in subsequent 24 hours.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places with isolated extremely heavy rainfall is very likely to occur over Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Keonjhar, Deogarh, Sambalpur and Sonepur districts of Odisha and isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur over Balasore, Mayurbhaj, Angul, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Nayagarh, Khurda, Puri, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and Boudh districts. Local cautionary signal number three keep hoisted at all ports of Odisha.
