Heat wave continued in Odisha, Balangir highest temperature of 44.3 degree

Bhubaneswar: Heat wave continued in western Odisha with Balangir town recording the highest temperature of 44.3 degree Celsius on Thursday even as a nor’wester brought relief in the State’s coastal region.
The mercury hovered above the 40-degree-Celsius mark in at least eight stations in the State. Titilagarh, also in Balangir district, recorded a maximum temperature of 42.8 degree Celsius, said the Regional Office of the Indian Metrological Department (IMD) here.
Sonepur recorded a maximum temperature of 42.4 degree Celsius, followed by 42 degree at Bhawanipatna, 41.1 degree at Angul town, 40.4 degree at Jharsuguda, 40.2 degree at Talcher and 40 degree Celsius at Phulbani, the IMD said.
