Bhubaneswar: Gujarat cadre Odia IAS Officer Girish Chandra Murmu appointed as Lieutenant Governor of Jammu-Kashmir.Girish Chandra Murmu, a 1985 batch IAS Officer, is the go to man for both PM Narendra Modi and HM Amit Shah. Murmu has worked with PM when he was the Gujarat CM. No wonder the trusted man for political advise is the best choice for the Govt.
The President of India is pleased to make the following appointments/changes:-
1. Shri Satya Pal Malik, Governor of Jammu & Kashmir is transferred and appointed as Governor of Goa;
2. Shri P.S. Sreedharan Pillai as Governor of Mizoram;
3. Shri Girish Chandra Murmu as Lieutenant Governor of Jammu-Kashmir;
4. Shri Radha Krishna Mathur as Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh
The above appointments will take effect from the dates they assume charge of their respective offices.
