Bhubaneswar: First swine flu casualty in Odisha, total 24 patients affected with H1N1 virus . The first swine flu casualty of 2017 was reported on Saturday with the death of a person at a private hospital in the capital city.

six persons who were tested positive on Friday. A total of 16 swabs had been examined on August 4 out of which six were found positive, four from Bhubaneswar and one each from Cuttack and Sundargarh.

Meanwhile, Health Minister Pratap Jena reviewed the situation on the day at a meeting in the State Secretariat and issued necessary guidelines and instructions to all Government and private hospitals. Jena said special measures have been taken up in all the medical college hospitals, the Capital Hospital and the District Headquarters Hospitals for the patients.
