First look of Jitendra Mishra’s feature film ‘The Last Color’ launched at 71st Cannes Film Festival

Bhubaneswar: Odisha born film producer & promoter Jitendra Mishra has collaborated once again with Michelin Starrer celebrity chef Vikas Khanna to produce a feature film named ‘The Last Color’, the first look of the film is released today during the Official Opening event of Cannes Producers Network during the ongoing 71st Cannes Film Festival, scheduled from May 8 to 19. The film teaser was launched at the official venue – ‘Plage des Palmes’, Cannes at 6.00pm in the presence of the Ambassador of India in France Mr. Vinay Mohan Kwatra, Executive director of Marche du Films Jérôme Paillard , CEO of Viacom 18 Motion Pictures and more than 500 producers, distributors & festival organizers from across the world.
Jitendra Mishra had collaborated with Vikas Khanna earlier as the co-producer of a film on Vikas Khanna’s life journey ‘Buried Seeds’ directed by New York based filmmaker Andrei Severny. The film was screened during the prestigious 74th Venice film festival in Venice Days last year. This time he has been the producer of Vikas Khanna’s directorial debut feature film along with other producers Bindu Khanna & Poonam Kaul.
“From cooking to directing a film, celebrity chef Vikas Khanna has made the leap from one art to another. His directorial debut, ‘The Last Color’, is based on a book of the same name that he wrote some years ago. The 90 minute film stars veteran actor Neena Gupta, and the plot revolves around the Supreme Court order against an age-old tradition of not allowing widows in Vrindavan to play Holi. The film is about relationship, girl child empowerment and victory of the human spirit. We have completed the shooting schedule last month, now it’s going for the post production and shall be ready by July this year”, said Mr Mishra.
Born in Titlagarh, Odisha, Jitendra Mishra is one of the few Indian film producers & promoters who have been able to create a benchmark in ‘Alternative methods of Film Production, Distribution & Promotion’ at international level. Awarded with the prestigious ‘Son of Odisha’, ‘Youth Icon’ ,‘Youth inspiration’ & many other awards, Mr Mishra has been on the Board of director for one of the biggest oldest media network for children & youth films – CIFEJ. He has been a member of Cannes Producers Network for last many years and invited as Jury to many leading international film festivals & forums.
