Bhubaneswar: ICAR-CIFA Scientists visited the cyclone FANI affected devastated villages of Nimapara Block of Puri District, where people have lost their lost their shelter, crop, & green environment. ARSSF-ICARCIFA (Agricultural Research Service Scientist’s Forum) organised a relief distribution work in the village Taraboi sasan, Beraboi, Dandipur and Kasia village of the Nimapada Block of Puri District on 16.05.2019. The team was led by Dr. Bindu R. Pillai, Director, CIFA. Shri, I.B. Kumar, Senior Administrative Officer, ICAR CIFA; Dr. Saroj Kumar Swain, President ARSS forum and Principal Scientist, ICAR CIFA; Dr. P.Routray, Secretary, ARSS forum and Principal Scientist, ICAR CIFA; Dr. J. Mohanty, Principal Scientist, ICAR CIFA;Dr. P.C. Das, Principal Scientist, ICAR CIFA; Dr. P.K. Sahoo, Principal Scientist, ICAR CIFA; Dr. Mrinal Samanta, Principal Scientist, ICAR CIFA; Dr. Ashish Saha, Principal Scientist, ICAR CIFA and other staffs of ICAR-CIFA managed the relief work.
More than 300 packets of relief materials were distributed among the cyclone affected families of these villages. Each packet consist of basic needs of family such as saree, gamuchha, biscuits, surf , solar torch light, sanitary napkin, skimmed milk powder and teabag etc. These packets were distributed for the needy families who are affected by the cyclone “FANI” of these four villages. A free kitchen was served on this occasion for 400 families. The scientists of the ICAR- CIFA contributed one day salary for this relief work. The cyclone affected families of these village praised the effort made by the ARSSF, CIFA and other staffs of ICAR-CIFA.
