Cuttack: In an initiative to benefit the unemployed youth of Odisha, the Construction Skill Development Council of India (CSDCI) under the aegis of Skill India and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) organized an exclusive two days job fair, ‘Mega Rozgar Mela & Skill Exhibition” at L&T Construction Skill Training Institute Construction Academy, Balikuda (Gopalpur), Cuttack, in association with Demorgia Consulting Services Pvt. Ltd. Eminent persons including Anand Kumar Singh, CEO, Construction Skill Development Council of India, Devi Prasad, State Engagement, NSDC and Parshuram, Head, L&T Training Institute graced the inauguration. About 40 companies from across the nation participated in the job fair and employed around 3000 youths in Construction Sector.
More than 40 companies including L&T, HRM Constructions, MB Infratech, KCS Eng & consultant, Manlift, SPD construction, I-Clean, OLA Cabs, Orion, Burger King, Konark Bituminus company, Western Refrigerators, DREAMPLAST INDIA PVT. LTD and many more participated in this job fair to employ the youth of Odisha under construction sector. Around 3000 candidates from across the state registered in the fair and thousands were selected for about 120 job roles under CSDCI such as Mason, Carpenter, Barbender, Helper, Electrician, Machine Operator, Delivery boys, Pick n packers and job roles of construction.
Speaking on the occasion, Anand Singh, CEO, Construction Skill Development Council of India said, “Odisha is a supplier state and construction sector is a dominating sector, may it be a mason or a plumber. So this Rozgar Mela aims at employing aspirants from construction sector in Odisha.”
The Rozgar Mela stems from the vision of Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi and Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan to transform India as the skill capital of the world. In Odisha, Rozgar Mela provided an opportunity to the unemployed youth at district level to seek employment with free counseling support
Skill India’s “Mega Rozgar Mela & Skill Exhibition” by CSDCI is an opportunity to job seekers of Odisha to come across potential employers and employment opportunities in the construction sector. The job fair also offered a platform to the organizations to meet potential employees in an informal setup. The skilled youths seeking opportunities could directly contact the recruiters and HR managers of various companies.
