Dutee Chand wins 100 meter gold at Indian Grand Prix

Bhubaneswar: Ace sprinter Dutee Chand recorded a comparatively easy win as she won the gold medal at the fifth Indian Grand Prix on Friday. She took 11.42 seconds to complete the 100-meter race which helped her finish at the top of the podium, reported The Bridge.

The athletic meet will see participants compete in 16 categories for men and women. Previously, there were talks that the event might get canceled due to most of India’s top athletes in mid-distance running categories and relay. They are also present in national camps in Jablonec nad Nisou in the Czech Republic after a successful stint in Poland saw them winning various medals.

Although She won gold clocking 11.42s, which is far below the World C’ship mark of 11.24s and 2020 Olympic Games cut-off timing of 11.15s.
