Kanhia: Durga Puja was celebrated with all religious ceremony at NTPC Talcher Kaniha from October 15-19,2018. The annual puja dedicated to Goddess organized by Sarvajanina Puja Committee of the Power Station. Like every year Goddess Durga idol was installed at Durga Mandap located at PTS Township. Durga Puja festival marks the victory of Goddess Durga over the demon Mahishasura.Thus,Durga Puja festival symbolizes the victory of Good over Evil.
During the puja ,Aastami and Nabami day attracted thousands of devotees visiting the pandal which included villagers from nearby by station.Head of the station ,Shri Santosh James ,Chief General Manager ,NTPC Kaniha participated in the puja celebration with other senior officials, employees,representatives of Employees Union and association.
A mahaprasad programme was organised for 3500 employees and associates to celebrate the puja on nabami.Various Cultural programme were organised during the puja celebration.The Puja concluded with Ravan podi which was initiated by Chief General Manager followed by idol immersion programme on October 19,2018.
