Dr Rajendra Prasad Sharma takes over as DGP of Odisha; says Maoist menace a challenge

Cuttack: Odisha’s newly appointed Director General of Police (DGP) Dr Rajendra Prasad Sharma today took over the charge from departing DGP KB Singh at the state police headquarters here.

It should be noted that IPS Dr. RP Sharma, 57 was on Wednesday appointed as the DGP of Odisha. Sharma, who earlier served as the commissioner of police here between August 2013 and January 2016, had received pat from Centre for having introduced a number of innovative schemes, mostly for women safety in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
