A Digital tribute to Kazi Nazrul Islam on his death anniversary

Bhubaneswar: On his death anniversary, OdishaLIVE pays tribute to Kazi Nazrul Islam, the National poet of Bangladesh. He has been associated with enchanting words which move generations of music lovers. OdishaLIVE digitally releases Nazrul Geeti, a bouquet of lyrical gems from Nazrul’s pen translated into Odia.

The album consists of 11 tracks of Nazrul Islam’s soulful words translated into Odia by Swarup Naik. The songs have been sung by noted Odia singer Namrata Mohanty while music has been arranged by Nitya Sriranjan. The tracks cover various moods like nature, love, affection, spirituality and longing.

Speaking to OdishaLIVE, Namrata Mohanty says “I am a fan of Nazrul Islam and his words appealed to me so much that I decided to sing his lyrics in Odia.” I hope the fans love this offering of ours as Nazrul’s writing have a spell binding effect on anyone who listens to it.
