CUO celebrates Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat Concludes with Valedictory Programme and Cultural Function

Sunabeda: The Valedictory Programme of the 5 day Students Exchange Programme under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, a flagship programme of the Ministry of HRD, organized by the Central University of Odisha, Koraput was held on 8th February 2020 at Bhanja Mandap, Sunabeda. 52 students of Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Viswavidyalaya, Wardha, the paired institution of CUO along with Faculty Members visited the Central University of Odisha from 4th -8th February 2020. The CUO carried out different programmes like lectures, educational tours, presentations, village visit & NSS activity to expose the Maharashtra students to various aspects of Odia culture & society. The programme was carried out under the supervision of Prof I Ramabrahmam, Vice Chancellor, CUO and implemented by a team of Faculty & staff led by Dr Sourav Gupta, Asst. Professor in Dept. of J & MC & Nodal Officer, EBSB.

The valedictory session was introduced by Prof S K Palita, Dean, School of Bio Diversity & Conservation of Natural Resources. It was presided over by Prof I Ramabrahmam, Vice Chancellor, CUO. Shri Tusharkanti Behera, Minister (Independent Charge), E & IT, Sports & Youth Services, Government of Odisha was the Chief Guest of the session. Prof Chandrakanta Ragit, Pro Vice Chancellor, MGAHVV, Wardha was the Guest of Honour. Shri Madhusudan Mishra, Collector & District Magistrate, Koraput and Shri R S Das, Executive Director, NALCO were the Distinguished Guests.

At the outset, Prof I Ramabrahmam, Vice Chancellor, CUO explained the principles of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat and laid down the importance of the programme and the partnership of the two universities in Koraput & Wardha. He also gave a vision of the future course of action plan the Central University of Odisha intends to follow for the development of education.

Prof Chandrakanta Ragit expressed his optimism over the pairing of CUO with MGAHVV and hoped that through EBSB the partnership will give way to fruitful academic exercises.

Shri Madhusudan Mishra and Shri R S Das expressed their happiness that the student exchange programme under EBSB is being held and affirmed the full support of district administration and NALCO respectively towards endeavors of the CUO.

Shri Tusharkanti Behera in his address appreciated the vision of Prof Ramabrahmam regarding the CUO and promised his full support to take the university forward. He said that Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat re affirms the concept of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam which transcends beyond limitations of racial origins, religious restrictions and national boundaries. He also stated that the idea of a sustained and structured cultural connect between denizens of different regions was mooted to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Ballavbhai Patel. He further stated that the CUO is a step towards bringing inclusiveness through learning and capacity building in an economically backward region like Koraput. He expressed hope that India can move forward as a nation only through unity in diversity and EBSB will bring about cultural & regional integration.

The guests on dais and the Faculty members from MGAHVV were felicitated by Vice Chancellor, CUO. Dr A K Das, Registrar, CUO delivered the vote of thanks. The session was conducted by Dr Sourav Gupta, Nodal Officer, EBSB. The session was followed by a cultural function organized by a team of faculty led by Dr Minati Sahoo, Asst Professor & Member, EBSB where students of both CUO & MGAHVV showcased their culture.

The programme was attended by journalists, staff, faculty and students of CUO who gathered in large numbers.
