Couturier traditional weaves at Mehers’ fascinates Pakistan Hokey players

Bhubaneswar: In a vibe of World Cup Hockey mania 2018 in Odisha, 16 teams from distinct countries have assembled here at Bhubaneswar to play their turn with sporting spirit. With a motto of bestowing quality hospitality to the visitors, the state government has developed state of the art culture to fabricate enthralling sporting aura all around. To explore the bountiful culture and tradition of Odisha, Pakistan Hockey players visited the temple city and eventually their journey culminated with a triumph when they came across the designer alluring customary dresses and sarees at Meher’s retail outlet at Janpath, Bhubaneswar on 3rd December 2018.

During their visit to the store, all the players from Pakistan team spent few hours to relish the cultural and traditional extravaganza of Odisha weavers. The team graced Mehers’ Handloom Showroom at Janpath, Bhubaneswar during their Odisha visit. They got mesmerized with the vibrant hues and the distinct handloom works by weavers of Odisha and also praised the collections available at Mehers’. Taking special interest in hand woven sarees, they picked up various exclusive designer Zarri work silk sarees along with some fancy sarees, shawls and salwar-suits.

At Mehers’ they impressed upon the designs and exclusive collections of traditional designer hand printed sarees with Sambalpuri pattern and as well as Ikkat and Odissi Tassar sarees at the grand showroom at Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The team applauded the Mehers’ showroom staff, who took them through the selection of the sarees.

Mehers’ is promoting the famous exclusive design and unique style of Odissi Saree and traditional handloom sarees which have earned worldwide repute for their unique weaving. Apart from this, Mehers’ handlooms under the guidance of Padmashree Chaturbhuj Meher the man known all over as the “MIDAS OF IKKAT” and Mr. Sankar Kumar Meher the man best known for his superlative saree designs have revolutionized and popularized these handloom products and are the true pioneers of Odisha handlooms.
