Berhampur: The day of World Book and Copyright Day is celebrated on 23rd evening by Samaprka Mass Media, a media house of Silk City at Mind Power Training Centre (MPTI) on the chairmanship of Sanat Panda, CEO of Samparka Mass Media. On this occasion 100 of Local Authors are present to demonstrate their affection for books and chase the new spheres of creation of their creativity. A mini Book Fair has also organised and inaugurated by Prof. Bidyut Prava Sahu from Khallikote University Odia Department. The Book Fair exhibited 176 publication of 46 authors and open the door to exchange ideas of publication and its challenges. Marking the necessity of copyright the resource person Sudarsan Sahu, Asst. Prof. of Journalism and Mass Communication of Berhampur University has said, “Authors are the creators. They create a world of truth, fantasy, comedy and tragedy. All these creations are the result of hard labour and overnight thinking. When all these come in the form of of books its originality should be preserved. So Copyright Act of 1957 is the safe guard of an author’s creation and originality. Attending the Authors meet as chief speaker District Education Officer Sanatan Panda has presented his challenges how to make children book friendly in the school arena other than text books. Focusing on the DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) programme he highlighted that children are always creative with their originality and every parents, teachers and guide should give them a chance to explore the nearby world. The chief guest Prof. Bidyut Prava Sahu addressed authors to come forward and use this platform for professional creation and spread the knowledge everywhere when the world runs towards insecurity. The evening of the show marked with keynote presentation by Manmohan Padhy, District Field Publicity officer and Vital role of English Language in our life by Santosh Padhy, Director of MPTI marking the day as English Day. Two Books are inaugurated with title “Aam Desar Raija Katha” written by Sanat Kumar Panda and “Nirab Kolahala” by poet R. Sunanda Choudhury. An interview based documentary is produced by the students of JMC on authors and their creativity. Narayan Mahankuda, editor of The Paryatan Bharat has put vote of thanks at last.
