#Coldwave continues in national capital #Delhi, 21 trains delayed

New Delhi: Coldwave continues in national capital Delhi. Delhi records season’s coldest day, temperature drops to 4.2 degrees .Delhi to have second-coldest December since 1901.

Weather experts suggest that tonight (Dec 27) is going to be the coldest night of this season. 21 trains delayed in North India due to weather conditions.

Before that, the MMT was 19.8 degrees Celsius in 1919 and 1929, while it was 20 degrees Celsius in 1962, the official said.

Biting cold continued to sweep North India with fresh snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. In Jammu & Kashmir, the Kashmir region is reeling under intense cold wave and chill for the past 10 days with winter’s coldest period ‘Chillai Kalan’ having already started today.

The minimum temperatures throughout the valley continue to remain several notches below the freezing point.

Met Department, Srinagar has forecast dry weather till next Friday. It said, very light rain or snow is likely to occur at one or two places in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh region. It also forecast dry weather for two subsequent days. Srinagar recorded night temperature of minus 0.4 degree Celsius.
