CM Naveen Patnaik Inaugurates western Odisha’s longest bridge

Sambalpur: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday dedicated newly-constructed 2.5 km long Sapne bridge. The bridge connects Rengali block in Sambalpur with Lakhanpur block in Jharsuguda running over the Ib river, a tributary of the Mahanadi river.

The bridge has been constructed with a whopping budget of Rs 117.5 crore. The bridge will reduce travel time considerably between the two places. This bridge had been a long-pending demand of the people of both the districts.

The bridge would bring down the distance between Ib Thermal Power Station (ITPS) and Sambalpur by 50 kilometres. It would join the MCL coalfield area to the Biju Expressway.

The bridge connections the Sapne village under Salat Panchayat in Sambalpur district with Talabarna village under Rampela Panchayat in Jharsuguda district.
