CM Chouhan instructs to conduct campaign to make villages free of corona

Bhopal: Stating the need to launch a campaign to free the villages from the infection of Corona, Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the Assembly level Crisis Management Committees constituted under the leadership of MLAs should work actively to make the villages in their areas infection free and also guide village level disaster management committees. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that local public representatives, social workers will have to take responsibility of freeing the villages from corona and they will have to cooperate with the government staff engaged in the door-to-door surveys under the Kill Corona Campaign in identifying the corona suspects.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was today addressing the members of the Disaster Management Committees constituted assembly-wise under the leadership of MLAs in rural areas of the district. In-charge minister Shri Arvind Singh Bhadoria, MP Shri Rakesh Singh, MLA Shri Ajay Vishnoi, Smt Nandini Maravi, Shri Sushil Tiwari Indu and Shri Sanjay Yadav were also present in the meeting.

At the meeting, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan appreciated the efforts being made for the prevention of corona infection in rural areas of Jabalpur district and said that due to these efforts, many villages in Jabalpur district have remained untouched from corona. He also credited the awareness among the people of the villages for this. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan also suggested the need to formulate a strategy to free the villages from the infection of corona, where the cases of corona are still coming up.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said in the meeting that it is mandatory to maintain physical distancing and wear mask to break the chain of infection of corona and that every person must follow these rules compulsorily. He said that in the war against Corona in rural areas, the strategy decided by the government will have to be strictly implemented. He said that to prevent the infection in the villages, the assembly and village-wise disaster management committees may decide to impose restrictions at their level as well. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan also praised the villages in the district where the local residents have imposed the corona curfew with self motivation and the movement has been prohibited.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan also obtained details of progress made in the administration of corona vaccine in rural areas. He called for the need to clear up misconceptions in the rural areas regarding the corona vaccine. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that people should be told that vaccine is the only treatment for protection from corona. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that MNREGA works can also be postponed for a week in the villages where there are more corona patients. He also instructed to bring the corona infected people in the villages to nearby Covid Care Centres and the corona suspects to the quarantine centre set up in the village.

In the meeting of the Disaster Management Committee constituted assembly-wise in the rural areas, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan called upon everyone to fight unitedly against corona. He said that everyone has to fight together in the event of this crisis. If we can free the villages from Corona, then Jabalpur district too will soon be free from Corona. He also expressed happiness over the decrease in corona cases in rural areas of Jabalpur city and district in the last few days. He also cautioned that if we remain careless or inattentive, then this crisis of corona may trouble us again.

Divisional Commissioner Shri B. Chandrasekhar, IG Police Shri B.S. Chauhan, Collector Shri Karmveer Sharma, Superintendent of Police Shri Siddharth Bahuguna, District Panchayat CEO Sushri Riju Bafna, Additional Collector Shri Harsh Dixit and Shri Rajesh Batham, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Shri Sandeep GR, Dr. Jitendra Jamdar, Shri Ranu Tiwari, Shri Shashikant Soni were also present. Janpad Panchayat level officials joined this meeting through VC.
