Chhattisgarh becomes the first state of the country to provide access to electricity related services through a mobile app

 

Raipur: Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel today launched the new features of “Mor Bijli” App of Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company Ltd (CSPDCL). He said that Chhattisgarh is the first state of the country, where power distribution company has launched a mobile app to provide doorstep services to the consumers. Chief Minister has praised the efforts and initiative of CSPDCL. He said that this app will be a big relief for consumers, as 90% of the services provided by CSPDCL can be availed through this mobile app.
Chief Minister said that now consumers will not have to visit CSPDCL office. This mobile app will save time, effort and money. He congratulated the CSPDCL officials and said that this app will make it convenient for the field employees to perform their duties. Chief Minister said that Power Company is promoting latest technology for production, transmission and distribution of electricity. One of the best examples of the same is launch of “Mor Bijli” App. Consumers can download this app free of cost and avail the facilities. The programme was attended by Urban Administration Minister Dr Shiv Kumar Daharia, School Education Minister Dr Premsai Tekam, Additional Secretary to Chief Minister and Chairman Power Companies Mr. Subrat Sahu, MD Mr. Harsh Gautam, Mr. Rajesh Verma, Mr. MK Bijaura, Mrs. Ujjwala Baghel and other officers.
Chairman of the Companies, Mr. Subrat Sahu said that many schemes and services have been launched for the first time for development of the power sector in larger interest of people. This includes Electricity on Half Rate Scheme and Mor Bijli App. In future, Chhattisgarh would become the hub of power sector development. Electricity related infrastructure is being expanded at an accelerated pace in Chhattisgarh. He told that even during the time of corona crisis, Chhattisgarh has maintained its top rank in terms of electricity production. He informed that this app can be downloaded from google playstore. Using this app, people can do more than 16 electricity related works from home. The new feature of “urgent complaint” in this app will prove beneficial in cases of accident. People can click photos of broken wire or damaged electricity system, upload it on urgent complaint section and file a complaint. Regional officer concerned will be immediately informed via SMS with location and the complaint will be resolved. People can use this app for services related to meter, name updation, shifting, new connection, change in tariff, bill payment, avail discount under Bijli Bill Half Yojana etc on their mobile anywhere anytime.
