Koraput: To promote and enhance mutual academic and institutional ties the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Central University of Orissa (CUO), Koraput and the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited(HAL), Sunabeda has been extended to another two years. CUO Vice-chancellor, Prof. I. Ramabrahmam and HAL Executive Director, Shri Debasish Deb signed the Extension of MoU in the presence of the top officials of the CUO and the HAL today. Initially, the MoU was signed for a period of three years and which ended on 28 May 2020.
The objectives of the MoU include: promote and enhance mutual academic and institutional ties between the CUO and HAL, provide advice for implementation of quality education at CUO & HAL and academic interaction and to provide necessary help with regard to personality development programmes.
Speaking on the occasion Prof. Ramabrahmam said “CUO and HAL are twin giant organizations of this region and added that the extension of MoU will cement the existing ties and provide academic exposure to the young engineers and technocrats of the HAL and their spouses”. As per the MoU, the students of the CUO can get access to the facility of HAL through internship.
“Certificate and diploma programmes will be opened for the young officers and their spouses in due course. The MoU will further help both the institutions to work jointly for the socio-economic and educational development of the vicinity” the CUO VC said. He conveyed his thanks to the HAL for allowing the CUO family to have access to the medical facilities at the HAL, Sunabeda.
HAL Executive Director Shri Debashis Deb said the MoU will provide opportunity for the young officers and their spouses of the HAL, Sunabeda to enhance their educational qualification. Outreach programmes will include Skill Development Initiatives among others.
