Cabinet approved restructuring of Odisha Administrative Service by increasing cadre strength

Bhubanewar: The State Cabinet today approved the restructuring of the Odisha Administrative Service by increasing the cadre strength to 1,711 from 1,558 and revision of cadre strength of Odisha Finance Service by increasing it to 800 from present 727.
The cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also nodded to the Odisha Fire Prevention and Fire Safety Rules 2017.
Odisha Cabinet approved implementation of Fire Prevention & Fire Safety Rules, 2017 coordinating and implementing fire protection measures in the state. Key decisions taken by the Cabinet:
• Establishment of Handlooms & Handicrafts Development & Promotion Council; to help improve livelihoods of families of weavers & artisans of the state
• Restructuring of cadre of Odisha Administrative Services; 153 posts to be added
• Revision of cadre strength of Odisha Financial Service; to be increased from 727 to 800
• Restructuring of Odisha Transport Engineering Service & Odisha Sub-ordinate Transport Engineering Service
Chief Minister Shri Patnaik reiterated State Government’s commitment towards all-round development of the people of Odisha.
