BSF organises free medical camp for cut-off residents in Odisha

Report by Kishor Dash; Bhubaneswar: WHILE extending its helping hand to the poor tribal people resinding in the cut off area, on the otherside of the vast Chitrakonda reservoir in Malkangiri district , the Janbai based 8th battalion COB of elite Border Security Force (BSF) organised a free medical check-up camp at Hathguda village to commemorate 142nd birth anniversary of Sardar Ballabhai Patel today.

The camp was inaugurated by BSF Commandant Amerish Kumar Arya in the presence of villagers . About 154 needy patients were examined ,treated and given medicines by Chitrakonda CHC Dr. Chandan Soren along with BSF paramedical staff like Ramavatar Sharma and Nirmal Kumar Sahoo in presence of second in command Randhir Ranjan and Assistant commandant O.P. Moga, Tribal people from 15 cut off villages were attended the camp.

Describing the camp a huge sucess , BSF Commandant Amerish Kumar Arya said the medical camp on the door step of cut off villager gave much benefits to needy patients as they cannot go to Chitrakonda after long journey. BSF is always on front line to help the poor and discharging its social responsibility as a part of civic action programme,” he added.

Appreciating the role of BSF, a cut off resident said they are delighted of such social activities which take place in favour of the common masses.
