Bhubaneswar: Twin City Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty felicitates Abhijita Mahapatra of Mancheswar area in Bhubaneswar for her bravery as she fought off two robbers, nabbed one during gold chain snatching bid at Rasulgarh GGP Colony earlier on the day.
Commissioner of Police Satyajit Mohanty honoured the brave woman with a cash reward of Rs 5000 and a letter of appreciation for her courageous act.
Abhijita Mahapatra was on her way to market after dropping off her daughter when two miscreants on a motorbike tried to snatch her chain in the pretext of asking for directions. While snatching, one of them lost his balance and fell off his motorbike. Abhijita immediately held onto him with his collar and called for help. People rushed to help and the miscreants were handed to the Police.
