Report by Bhagabat Padhi, Paralakhemundi: Block Level Tribal Women Convention organized by Mahila Vikash at Mahendragada of RUdayagiri block. Speaking on the occasion Kumudini Gomango Sarpanch of Mahendragada Panchayat, stressed on role of women to join on mainstream development. She also requested to join more and more in Pallisabha & Gramsabha to address their issues and emerge their role in governance.
Speaking on the occasion Bhagabat Padhi, of Agragamee stressed that since long 30 years Agragamee stressed to counter all plights of women and indeed 3-tier Panchayatiraj system is a citadel for them to join on all decision making. Supported by European Union the program is presided by Santilata Rath, Secretary of Mahila Vikash.Pramod Kumar Panda, District Coordinator of SWWS, viewed on information guaranteed by the community to access all schemes and bring transparency and accountability.
Among the participants Gita Raita of Rasibada village, Namita Mandal of Kuanpada, Panchami Mallick of Gamangapada of Sialilati Panchayat and Janaki Devi of Kankadaguda in Sunderba Panchayat presented their various problems related to education, health communication and drinking water problems. About 95 women participants from all corners of the block attended the convention.
