Bhubaneswar: BJP extends support to bandh called by Nava Nirman Krushak Sangathan (NNKS) on February 21. This was informed by the state BJP President Basant Panda.
The Navnirman Krushak Sangathan (NKS) has called for a Statewide bandh on February 21 to protest the lackadaisical attitude of both the Union and State Governments to protect the interest of farmers. NKS has sought cooperation from truck and bus associations urging them to keep their vehicles off the road during the 12-hour bandh.
The outfit has been demanding a security allowance of Rs 5,000 per month for nearly 36 lakh farmers of the State with an annual budget allocation of Rs 21,600 crore.
