BJP alleged that Odisha Govt failed in containing the spread of coronavirus; Managing COVID-19 Pandemic Only On Twitter

Bhubaneswar: The BJP on Tuesday alleged that the State Government and the Ganjam district administration have failed in containing the spread of coronavirus in Ganjam.

“Quarantine centers are unhygienic and have no drinking water facility. Inmates are being served low-quality foods. Due to mismanagement, the number of Covid cases in Ganjam district has increased alarmingly,” alleged BJP State vice-president Brugu Baxipatra at a Press meet here.

He demanded that minimum 5,000 swab tests should be conducted in Ganjam district daily and three full-fledged Covid hospitals established at three subdivision headquarters, Chhatrapur, Brahmpur and Bhanjanagar.

Baxipatra also demanded that the Government provide mobile healthcare facility at doorsteps as OPDs of the most of the hospitals have been closed in view of detection of Covid cases. He said PPE kits should be provided to all health workers moving households to collect date and their swab tests tested.

He demanded that assistances, as announced by the Government, should be paid to the families of deceased Covid warriors forthwith.

“The district administration should involve social, political and voluntary organisations and disaster management experts in Covid combat and management,” he said.

He demanded that the Government appoint an Additional Chief Secretary level officer for Covid management in the district.
