Bhubaneswar, September 08: BhubaneswarOne, the all-in one map-based information portal on geographic information system (GIS) for the city, has become enriched with new added features and information layers for more useful and interactive data dissemination so that any user, on information gathering spree on the Temple City, would be more happier and richer, content and quality wise, on click of a button.
BhubaneswarOne is the GIS based map portal, which integrates geo-spatial data from all the Government and Private organizations for providing easy and hassle free information for the tourists and residents of Bhubaneswar.
Over the time, the Bhubaneswar Development Authority reorganized, re-categorised and restructured the information layers on the portal based on user experience and feedback. The newly added data layers include administrative and statutory boundaries, Bhubaneswar Smart District area (Bhubaneswar Town Centre District), bus routes, bus stops, road network, BMC parking lots, heritage district information, Ekamra Walks route and a lot more information useful for public convenience. The website is also made responsive and compatible for all devices like desktops, laptops and smart phones along with user friendly interface and inter module functional improvement.
Furthermore, work has been initiated for addition of new city-level data such as guide to playgrounds, parks, and play spaces managed by BDA and BMC and 361 listed heritage sites with photographs, history and architectural information with the existing story map. This story map will have a unique link for each monument to access detailed search option on the portal. Besides, present functions like ‘Know your plot’ will also be integrated with BPAS (Building Plan Approval System) and Bhulekh. Additional functions such as Advance Query, User Feedback Login, GPS / My location will be added to make it more user friendly.
Going forward, once the Master System Integrator (MSI) comes on board, the phase II of BhubaneswarOne will be initiated to integrate all services with the portal that includes –property tax, vehicle tracking system module, accident reporting, live data visualisation such as bus location, parking status and traffic status. Besides, new features like common payment system, 360 degree photographs, navigation services, 3D city GIS and story map for learning centres and parks will be added to this portal in phase II implementation. The city authorities plan to extensively promote the portal among citizen groups as well as on social media platforms in coming months.
The first of its kind in the country, BhubaneswarOne has GIS-based information that helps city government to monitor development. This portal has information related to wards, public services, updated notifications from various Govt. organizations, location and significance of different tourist sites, and much more. The portal updates data on a regular basis and more government departments are being partnered for a better service delivery to create a one stop solution for residents of Bhubaneswar.
