Bhubaneswar: Priyadarshi Mishra, Honorable MLA of Bhubaneswar North and Sri Tejeswar Parida, Chairman Khadi & Village Industries Board (KVIB) visited Training Center based at Lumbini Vihar, Bhubaneswar of Abbey West Services on 4th July, 2018. They felicitated seven skill icons of Abbey West Services in an event organized by it.
Honourable MLA and KVIB Chairman were received by the trainees of center, Mr. Asim Das, State Head, Abbey West Services, Mr. Rajesh Dash, Center Manager with sprinkling of flowers and sounding of conch. Both of the honoured guests visited Hospitality lab, IT lab and sewing machine lab accompanied by Prof. Pruthwi Raj Das, MD Abbey West Services. They met with many trainees discussed about their training courses and how they are fairing. Later on in a meeting Prof. Pruthwi Raj Das and Mr. Asim Das, State Head gave them an idea regarding the courses conducted in our Lumbini Vihar Center. Sri Priyadarshi Mishra, Honourable MLA lauded the effort of our organisation in preparing the youths from rural areas of Odisha in various skills. He also said that State Government has been trying their best to bring more employment opportunities to the State, so everybody should prepare themselves to gain from these employability opportunities. Sri Tejeswar Parida, Chairman, KVIB in his inspirational speech spelled out that the State of Odisha has come across a long way from a poor state with no industrial hubs or no opportunities for skilled people to an aggressively pursuing industrialisation state. The State Government through ORMAS trying to provide free of cost skill development programme in various trades, so that rural youths can become self reliant as well as can be entrepreneurs. He also said that his Board is also providing loans at subsidized interest to these micro entrepreneurs to the tune of twenty-five lakhs rupees.
In the end of the event both Sri Priyadarshi Mishra and Sri Tejeswar Parida felicitated 7 alumnae’s of Abbey West Services with Skill Icon trophies who have been continuing their employment in various organisations after completion of their training. The candidates are Debidutta of ‘Swosti Hotel’, Pradeep of ‘Pushpak Hotel’, Sunita and Prashant of ‘By D Way’, Jitendra of Tata Steel, Dharitri of Green Chillyz and Mami of Kalinga Hospital.
