Bhubaneswar: BharatBandh by Ten Central Trade Unions affects normalcy in Odisha as educational institutions remain closed in several districts, bus & train services, business establishments & banks also shut in many parts of the State. Emergency services, however, continue to remain unaffected.
Bhubaneswar-Bolangir Intercity, Puri-Rourkela Passenger train presently stranded at Bhubaneswar railway station; Howrah-Yesvantpur Express, Ichhapur-Cuttack MEMU stuck at Berhampur, Puri-Vishakhapatnam Passenger also stranded at Gunupur station.
Agitators stage rail roko at Pattasahi, Bimlagarh & Raxy stations in Bonai; Kharagpur-Khurda passenger detained at Balasore, Puri-Ernakulam Express stuck at Markona, Puri-Cuttack Passenger yet to depart from Puri, Paradip Bhadrak Passenger also stranded at Cuttack.
It should be noted that Ten Central Trade Unions (CTUs) along with various sectoral independent federations and associations observe 24-hour all India strike protesting hike in the prices of essential commodities, unemployment, “anti-people” policies of the Centre & several other issues.
