Bhubaneswar: As a nation, we are facing an unprecedented challenge as we fight the COVID-19 from spreading across various states. Under the circumstances, it is heartening to note that the Govt of Odisha is undertaking multiple proactive measures to control and contain the virus in the form of citizen-centric welfare measures.
In these challenging times, Axis Bank, as a trusted and valued partner of the State has adopted additional customer-friendly measures in order to extend all possible banking support and services to the people, in line with the directives of the RBI and guidelines issued by various government agencies. Other than taking basic precautions with respect to sanitization-related measures in every branch, appended are some of the other initiatives taken up by the Bank for its customers in the state:
• All 171 branches in the state across 30 districts are fully operational from 10 AM to 2 PM, handling all retail as well as Government transactions
• 535 ATMs, constituting nearly 100% of our network in the State, are fully functional and one Mobile ATM is already deployed in Bhubaneswar City, which is moving door to door to mitigate hardships faced by the residents
• Despite challenges in terms of vehicular movements, availability of cash vans and manpower issue, Axis Bank is assisting the State Govt in the disbursal of Social Security Pensions (4 months of pension disbursement as declared by Govt). This is being done at more than 110 Blocks with more than 21,000 beneficiaries of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation on priority basis and with utmost diligence. We have already disbursed approximately Rs 300 crore of pensions, some of which are being disbursed on holidays and Sundays.
• The Bank is promoting digital banking amongst its customers and providing waivers on charges for online, IMPS and ATM transactions (Financial and Nonfinancial) for the period 21st March to 31st March, 2020. The bank has gone ‘beyond the call’ to extend services to senior citizens and sick people, delivering cash at their residences as well.
• Axis Bank offers various service payments, fund transfers, bill pay etc. through its Mobile App for greater convenience of customers, enabling them to do banking transactions from their homes. Additionally, we have ensured faster processing of instant personal loans on digital mode.
• The Bank is also extending benefits of deferment of EMI to borrowers, as directed by the RBI
The country is faced with one of the most severe challenges seen in recent times and Axis Bank stands one with both the nation and the people of Odisha as we look to ensure seamless services to our customers in the state.
