Completes 1 year in offering quality cancer care to the people of Odisha

Bhubaneswar: AMRI Asian Cancer Institute, AMRI Hospitals, Bhubaneswar, observed World No Tobacco Day 2017 today. Present on the occasion were PadmaShri Tulasi Munda renowned Social Activist of India, Ms. Subhashree Das, Noted Social Activist of Odisha, Dr. Dhairyasheel Savant Sr. Surgeon, ACI, Mumbai & Dr. Salil Kumar Mohanty, VP, Unit Head, AMRI Hospitals, Bhubaneswar. Over the last one year, AMRI Asian Cancer Institute has been providing latest cancer care services to the people of Odisha.

Tobacco in various form has been found to be the main cause behind the growing cases of oral and head / neck cancer. On this World No Tobacco Day, it has been the endeavor of AMRI Asian Cancer Institute Bhubaneswar to undertake such awareness programme and spread this year’s theme message of “TOBACCO THREATEN US ALL”.
Mrs. Subhashree Das – Social activist said, “Habit of taking tobacco is deep rooted in our society and we need to eliminate this habit and spread the message across all sections of the society.”
Speaking on the occasion after being felicitated for her excellent work in the social sphere Padmashree Tulasi Munda expressed her concern about the growing consumption of tobacco and appealed to everybody to disassociate from the use of tobacco. The ill-effect of Tobacco can only be eliminated by saying No to any form of Tobacco.

Dr. Dhairyasheel Savant, Consultant Head & Neck Surgical Oncology, Asian Cancer Institute, Mumbai said, “Tobacco related cancers are very difficult to treat and the best way is to prevent it by avoiding tobacco in any form.”
