Report by Kahnu Nanda, Jagatsinghpur: The 27 CRPF personal Havildar Prasanna Sahu who was killed in Pulwama terrorist attack on Thursday, a pall of gloom descended in Sikhar village under Naugaon block where deceased Habildar hailing from. The family members and villagers were stunned after the sad news reached village and everyone has been remembering the brave son of the soil who sacrificed life in this ghastly terrorist attack.
Martyred Sahu’s college going daughter Runi Sahu , plus two reading son Jagan Sahu and grief-stricken wife Mina Sahu expressed proud that my husband laid down life for the country, the irreparable loss sustained by the family would not be compensated, I became widow and children converted to fatherless. In last November my husband had visited village on the occasion of Son’s Puja and promised to come in the middle of August 2019 but the word remained unfulfilled, Mina told in village.
Meanwhile Martyred family admitted that state chief minister Naveen Patnaik spoke to them, expressed his deep condolence over the martyrdom of CRPF Havildar Prasanna Sahu.
Family sources informed that the body of Sahu likely to reach Bhubaneswar on Friday night then will proceed to Sikhara village where last rites would be performed at village graveyard with national honor. Meanwhile district administration officials accompanying sub collector Mahendra P Mohanty and SDPO visited martyrs family and queried the arrangements for the last rites.
