Odisha Police gunned down 5 Maoists in Kalimela area

Bhubaneswar: At least 5 Maoists gunned down by police in Kalimela area; gun battle between Special Operation Group (SOG) of Odisha Police and members of Kalimela Dalam Division of CPI (Maoist) underway in Bejingwada forest . The gun-battle is still underway, leader of Kalimela Dalam Division of CPI (Maoist) group, Ranadev is believed to be present at the spot. This is the biggest operation against Maoists in Odisha in past 3 years; so far five bodies of Red rebels have been recovered from Bejingwada Forest says DGP RP Sharma.

Dead Maoists include 2 women and 3 men, who were members of Kalimela Dalam Division; total number of Maoists present at the camp during the encounter could not be ascertained, informs Odisha DGP RP Sharma at a press meet.
