Odisha: BMC to Organise 3 Trade License Camps from Monday

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation has taken up a task to provide trade license certificate to the commercial establishment in special camps. The drive for trade license certificate will cover all the zones of BMC with 3 specialised camps with 6 dedicated teams. The drive will continue from 22nd May to 31st May for 10 days in all the Zone offices of BMC.

Citizens who are not having trade license but doing business either small or large can avail certificate at once during the camp period. Prior to this availing of license remained a hectic job as it needs proper documentation support and field verification. In the special drive people need not wait for the field verification from BMC side, through a self-declaration they can avail the certificate in a simplified way.

The Camps will provide assistance to the beneficiaries who do not have proper knowledge on filling up the formats. Besides a rate Chart for fess calculation on what amount shall be collected for a particular trade shall be displayed in the camps. People who are having the license but have not renewed it can also come renew their certificates in a quick process.

It may be noted that there are around 15 thousand trade license holders in BMC jurisdiction. How ever BMC has come to know that around 36 thousand commercial operations are there who do not have license. As per the Odisha Municipal Act all the commercial establishments should have trade license. BMC has set the agenda to reach to more number of people who are not having license to trade. Camps will be organised in South West Zone at Rental Colony, North Zone at Chandra Sekharpur and South East Zone at BMC office campus.
