Bhubaneswar: OCL-LVPEI Eye Centre in Rajgangpur, Odisha, set up by OCL India Ltd (a subsidiary of Dalmia Bharat Group) in association with L V Prasad Eye Institute has completed its 3rd year of operation. This year the eye institute added another milestone to its achievements by completing treatment of 50,481 patients since inception.The eye centre was set up as a noble endeavour to uplift the eye-care situation in the district by providing specialist eye care services in remote areas with advanced ophthalmic technologies.
OCL Eye Centre, since inception till this year, has served 50481 outpatients out of which 16543 (33%) have been free of cost. The Centre has treated 23861 (47%) female patients within these three years. OCL Eye Centre has performed total 3574 surgeries, out of which 2503 have been operated without any cost.
Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Ganesh Jirkuntwar, Executive Director – Manufacturing, OCL India Limited and Dalmia Cement East Limited, said, “We at OCL India are delighted to have supported a phenomenal number of patients in the last three years through this Eye Centre. Our prime focus is to socially support the community, be it in the spheres of education skill development or health care. We thank each and everyone who have supported us in our initiative. This has been our motto to provide the best of eye-care facilities to the people of Sundergarh district. We would also like to thank L V Prasad Eye Institute for supporting us in our ongoing mission of eradicating blindness from the district.”
Expressing his happiness on the eye centre’s achievement Dr G. Chandrasekhar, Vice – Chairman, L V Prasad Eye Institute said, “We are proud to be associated with OCL for this this eye centre, which has already treated over 50,000 patients in just three years. We have already started our speciality clinic at OCL eye centre and have covered 1,019 patients for retina, cornea and oculoplasty services. We are in course with the aim of making the district blind-free.”
