Baripada: Famous annual festival Mayurbhanj Chaitra Parva began here on Wednesday and will conclude on Friday.
The first day’s programme ran late into the night with 13 rural Chhow Dance groups of Baripada Sadar, Bamanghaty and Panchpeedh sub-divisions showcasing their performances. On the second day and third days, Baripada Chhow Dance artists of both Uttar Sahi and Dakshin Sahi are scheduled to display their skills.
Chhow Dance artists from other districts are also slated to perform during the festival, which is being organised at the local Chhow Padia drawing thousands of Chhow-lovers from different parts of north Odisha as well as from outside the State.
