Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited celebrates a resurgent Odisha at Rath Yatra

Bhubaneswar: Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited, India’s leading cement company since over seven decades celebrates a ‘Resurgent Odisha’ at the annual Rath Yatra festival this year. Keeping in alignment with the theme, the greenest cement company in the world has made its presence felt through an innovative beach installation around the theme ‘punarudhhar’ (Resurgence) at Puri sea beach depicting the resilient spirit of the people of Odisha in its efforts to ‘join hands and rebuild life’ following the aftermath of cyclone Fani this year.

As part of the celebrations, Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited’s innovative beach installation at Puri displays relief efforts made for rehabilitation after the natural calamity including food prepared and distributed to over 1.5 lakh people, planting trees, resetting structures damaged etc. Additionally, there is a ‘write a message’wall adjoining the beach installation where visitors are encouraged to sign and express their solidarity with the people of Odisha.

Reinforcing Dalmia Cement’s initiatives for the Odisha market, Indrajit Chatterjee, Head – Sales and Marketing (East), Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited, said, “Rath Yatra is integral and sacred to the people of Odisha. This year has been a challenging year for us, and we wanted to establish that we fight all adversity together. After cyclone Fani, our efforts have been to stand by the people via relief work, plantation etc. and hence the theme is all the more relevant to us as it reinforces the resurgence of the people to fight back and stand up again. We are committed in this with the people and for the welfare of Odisha. Our showcase this year is a tribute to the Spirit of Odisha and the resilience of its people. We want all visitors to know how Odisha continues to celebrate life even in the face of the stormy difficulties we have faced recently. The structures designed and displayed by Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited during the last two years’ festivities have received remarkable responses from visitors. In 2017, a life size replica of Lord Jagannath’s chariot was set up which drew a lot of visitors who were not able to make to pulling of the chariot. Additionally, in 2018, the company showcased a replica of a hockey stadium which stood to pay tribute to Odisha’s rich contribution to the game as well as highlight the State as host to Men’s Hockey World Cup. This year the company showcases the spirit of a resurgent Odisha and the resilience of its people.
