Bhubaneswar: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said BJP national president Amit Shah’s strong belief that the BJP would win 120 Assembly seats in Odisha in the 2019 elections is supported by well-thought strategies and battle plans.
“Bijubabu could get 123 seats in the 1990 elections against 16 seats in the preceding Assembly. If the BJP gets more seats surpassing the existing fewer seats, nothing new will happen,” he told reporters.
“The BJD Government is only discharging its Constitutional duty to remain in power now. Odia people would root out this Government after 18 to 20 months,” he added.
On the other hand bJP national president Amit Shah targeted Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik more sharply on Thursday calling upon people to “throw out the BJD Government” in the 2019 elections to ensure fast-track development of Odisha.
Reiterating his allegation that Odisha is lacking the expected development tempo, Shah claimed that the State would really develop when the BJP comes to power.
Shah was addressing a party workers’ meeting at Basantpur in the Dhauli area here on the last day of his current visit to the State. Notably, Shah has registered him as a voter from this area.
Shah said he covered 400 km of road during his three-day visit to the State to study the problems of people while Naveen Patnaik is flying in air by a helicopter. “The BJP is with people and the people are with the BJP,” he remarked.
