Bhubaneswar: Airport Authority of India today signs MoU with SAIL regarding UDAN flight connections to steel cities . Path cleared for commencing schedule operations at Rourkela, Burnpur & Bokaro.
UDAN flights to steel city of Rourkela could not started till now due to technical issues gripping. As the Rourkela airport runed by RSP of SAIL. Though Airports Authority of India (AAI) has augmented necessary infrastructure of the airport, commercial flight services could not be started till an MoU is signed between the AAI and SAIL.In fact, restoration of commercial flight in Rourkela airport has been a long-standing demand after the Vayudoot had stopped its operation in 1989.
