Report by Lokanath Panda, Kashipur: Agragamee, an leading NGO organize an interactive workshop with Women Federations on Government Programme and Policy at Kashipur of Rayagada Districts. Office Bearers of Women Federations like Mandibisi Mahila Mahasangh, Kashipur, Rayagada, Phringia Ancalika Mahila Mahasangh, Derakumpa, Phulbani Baphalamali Mahila Mahasangh, Adri, Thuamul Rampur, Kalahandi, Indrabati Mahila Mahasangh, Goudaguda, Tentulikhunti, Narangpur, Dasmantpur Mahila Mahasangh, Dasmantpur, Koraput, and women group members of Nuapada and Bolangir activitly participated in the workshop and they planning for the strengthening the Mahila Mahasangh and involvement in the governance and working for the common cause like like education, health, ICDS, NREGS etc.
Mrs. Sumani Jhodia, President, Ama Sangthan Call for break silence so that only by breaking silence and out of fear, women will be empowered in the tribal areas. She called for only through literacy, we dream the changing society. Sharing her experience, she shared due to her fearless and brevity, She will be selected as Adviser of Biju Patnaik during his Chiefministership.
Mrs. Vidhya Das, Joint Director of Agragamee shared that Agragamee since its inception working for the empowerment of disadvantaged women group. So there is need to strength the women federation and also there will be need to participates by more women in the panchayat governance so that the govt welfare schemes will be goes to the real beneficiaries.
Mr. Achyut Das, Director, shared that Agragamee try to empower women members and literacy and self-sustainable of women group. He He call for need to be more and more younger group to be training on skill development, eco-development of village etc. He shared in future Agragamme will be working with the women federation on addressing nutrition and income insecurity of underprivildged community by improving access to relevant Government Schemes. He also shared that Agragamme will be organized a training programme for capacity building of women members of Women Federation in near future.
Among others, Mrs. Jatani Kanhar, President, Phiringia Anchalika Mahila Mahasangh, Derakumpa, Phulbani also share her experience as a uneducated tribal women, how she empower by attend training and workshop. Now she visit govt. office and discuss with officers with fear. Mrs. Sundei Saunta, Secretary, Dasmantpur Mahila Mahasangh, also spoke on this occasion Around 50 office bears of different groups participate in the workshop Participants are from Rayagada, Nuapada, Bolangir, Phulbani, Nawarangpur, Koraput participated on this occasion.
