Bhubaneswar : Aditya Aluminium(A Unit of Hindalco Industries Ltd), Lapanga, Sambalpur received the “Pollution Control Excellence Award 2017” for Industry category by State Pollution Control Board, Bhubaneswar on the occasion of 34th Foundation day. Aditya Aluminium was recognized for effective pollution control measures and sound environment management Practices. During this grand event, Shri Bibhu Prasad Mishra(President & COO), Shri Soubhagya Kumar Tripathy(Head- Environment & Sustainability) from Aditya Aluminium and Shri Ardhendu Mohapatra and Dr Rama Chandra Rout from Corporate Affairs cell were present to receive the most coveted Trophy and certificate of Excellence.
It was an honour and unique recognition by the senior functionaries of State Government like Shri R Balakrishnan, DC-cum-ACS , Chairman, State Pollution Control Board; Shri S.C. Mahapatra, IAS; Additional Chief Secretary: Environment & Forest : Chief Guest; Shri Debidutta Biswal, IFS, Forest Special Secretary & Member Secretary: State Pollution Control Board.
The Member Secretary, OSPCB defined the Award as a distinctive way of acknowledging the efforts of Industries on Pollution Control and the recipients demonstrated exemplary leadership in holistically advancing sustainability goals to protect the Environment, Ecosystem and Social communities. Mr Bibhu Mishra, President & COO of Aditya Aluminium expressed happiness for the consistent efforts of his team in mitigating the initial challenges to improve various systems and processes and finally achieved production of high quality Aluminium metal and exports to companies like Boeing, Mitsubishi, Hyundai and others. Shri Rajesh Gupta, Head –Sambalpur Cluster has congratulated all and fell proud for the award. He commits to improve more on environment, safety, health and community development.
