Dhamra: Adani Foundation received the Gold Award in the Apex India CSR Innovation Award, for transforming lives of fisherfolk community. The award was conferred at the Apex India OSHE Sustainability Conference in Goa, in the presence of Shri Shripad Yesso Naik, Union Minister of State, Ministry of AYUSH. Fisher-folk community is one of the largest beneficiary groups of Adani Foundation’s initiatives.
To ensure employment and income in the non-fishing season, Adani Foundation provides the fisher folk with kitchen garden seeds and mangrove saplings. In order to raise the standard of living of the fisher-folk community, Adani Foundation has assisted in providing good roads to reach sea shore settlements, drinking water, solar light, space for drying fish, etc. Potable drinking water is the one of the basic amenities one needs access to. Scholarships are also provided to meritorious students. Youth are encouraged to participate in sporting events to increase harmony in the community.
