Adani Foundation distributes Playing and Learning Kit to Anganwadi Centres as part of Early Childhood Education (ECE) Program

Dhamra: By playing and interacting, young children can easily mix-up with their immediate environment.Thus,use of playing and learning materials has a very important role in under Early Childhood Education (ECE) programmes. In order to stimulate the present learning practice in the early childhood education, Adani foundation Dhamra Port has provided a range of playing and learning materials to encourage inquisitiveness, imagination and promote a sound foundation for learning in the Anganwadi Center (AWC) run under ICDS programme. Under the initiative AF has merged its hand with ICDSChandbali in providing customized learning kit and capacity enhancement of Anganwadi workers to create a better and joyful learning atmosphere in all 99 AWCs in 8 GPs in port periphery.

The Kit comprises with Water Filter, Seating Mat, tri-lingual study books, play blocks, soft toys etc. with the aim to bring holistic development among pre-school children in terms of physical, psychological, motor, cognitive, language and communication skills, socio-emotional development and creativity, in the first phase AF has supported this kit to 35 AWCs under 3 GPs viz. Dosinga, Kaithakhola and Bansada.

It also noteworthy to mention here that, in addition to the above support, Adani foundation is also running its flagship program “Suposhan” since 2017. The objective of Suposhanis to reduce malnutrition between 0-5 year’s children, anemia among the adolescent, lactating and pregnant women.

47 village level volunteers known as Sangini are involved in the surrounding 08 GP’s of Dhamra port periphery bringing behavioral changes among the adolescent, lactating and pregnant women.
