Bhubaneswar: With more than 65 lakh “Green Forms’’ received so far, for inclusion of farmers into the much-awaited KALIA Scheme (Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation), 14,000 data entry operators have started a massive task to enter the data for the beneficiaries across Odisha at block-level.
All district collectors are constantly monitoring the data entry operations by visiting data processing centres at block-level. The State Government has also appointed 28 senior officials as observers for all districts to coordinate smooth management of the KALIA Scheme across the State.
In order to facilitate inclusion of all beneficiaries to the KALIA Scheme the State Government earlier had asked the farmers to apply through “Green Form’’ by January 10. However, later the date was extended to January 15 for the Phase I inclusion.
The KALIA Scheme will help small and marginal farmers, agricultural household, vulnerable agricultural households, landless agriculture labourers and sharecroppers. It would also have life insurance support to cultivators and landless agriculture labourers.
Meanwhile, an IEC Campaign on KALIA Scheme was also included in the monthly PEETHA Camp across the State, which started on January 15. The campaign components are standardized for ensuring uniformity across the entire State. All components under KALIA Scheme for the beneficiaries at GP-level are being discussed during the PEETHA Camp through screening of videos, leaflets, posters and public announcements by Gram Panchayat Nodal Officers (GPNOs).
It can be mentioned here that the State Government has launched PEETHA (People’s Empowerment-Enabling Transparency and Accountability of Odisha Initiatives) programme as part of 3-T initiative (Technology, Transparency and Team work). Under this programme, it has been decided to organize special camps at Gram Panchayat level across the State from 15th to 20th of every month.
