Bhubaneswar: WSHGs in Odisha are making substantial contributions to the protect the people from Corona Virus,COVID-19. 605 SHGs have made 15 lakh cotton masks so far , helping protect the community and support Government’s decision .
In Odisha’s fight against #COVID19 all persons shall cover their mouth and nose with any available form of mask while stepping out of the house.This move has further encouraged the SHGs of Mission Shakti to make more masks as there is a surge in demand for cotton masks.
6753 Women Self Help Groups of Mission Shakti have been central in managing 5245 GP level free kitchen centres in collaboration with the local self government in Odisha.These groups have already served 25 lakh hot cooked meals to the vulnerable people during lockdown throughout the state.259SHGs of Kendrapara district have achieved an outstanding performance in serving 2.11lakhs of meals so far during this difficult time. During lockdown on account of #COVID-19 pandemic, Women Self Help Groups under Mission Shakti have taken up of the initiative of running mobile dry ration and vegetables supply in different urban areas
More than 100 SHGs have donated Rs 11.86 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund,Odisha to help combat Coronavirus.
