Bhubaneswar: A total of 6.33 lakhs students in Orissa participated in the school level painting competition in Energy Conservation 2019 under the aegis of Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Ministry of Power Govt. of India , organised by NTPC Bhubaneswar. In the next level of state level painting competition, a total of 100 students in Category “A” of classes IV, V, VI and Category “B” of classes VII, VIII, IX were selected . Thirteen students from each group who stood First , Second , Third and Ten consolations prizes winners were given cash prizes of Rs 50,000/- (First Prize), Rs30,000/-(Second Prize) , Rs20,000 ( Third Prize) and 10 consolation prizes of Rs7,500/-. Master Somesh Kar and Ms Snehashree Sahoo stood first in the State Level Painting Competition on Energy Conservation 2019 in category “A” and category “B” respectively. The painting competition is held in three stages namely School, State and National Level .
Shri Bhupinder Singh Punia, State Project Director, Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA) and Chief Guest on the occasion, presented the prizes and certificates to the winning participants. Shri Anil Jana Chief General Manager, NTPC, Shri Milan Kumar, General Manager (HR) and Shri Manas Ranjan Samal from OSEPA also graced the occasion. Shri Punia ,in his address, appreciated the efforts of the children in making the paintings on the theme of Energy Conservation and thus imbibing the habit of energy conservation in their daily life. Shri Jana , while speaking on the occasion, lauded the efforts of the participants and expressed hope that the children will perform even better in their future endeavors.
The participating students who have stood First, Second and Third in category “A” and “B” in the State Level painting Competition will be invited to participate in the National Level Painting Competition in Delhi during the second week of December. Every year , Ministry of Power organizes a function on 14th December to observe the National Energy Conservation Day and present awards to industries and other establishments who have made serious efforts to save energy. The prize winning students at the National Level Painting Competition will also participate in the National Energy Conservation Day function and receive prizes from the Chief Guest in New Delhi.
