Bhubaneswar: The 56th Annual Athletic Meet of Sainik School Bhubaneswar held at Gandhi Stadium of the campus closed on 8th Dec 2017. The noted National Athlete Shri N Srinivas Rao graced this occasion as Chief Guest.
On her arrival at the Campus there was a great joy among the Cadets, as he happens to be an inspiring personality to the Sainik School Cadets. Capt (IN) Kanchan Mukherjee, Principal extended a warm welcome in his words of appreciation to the star athlete. In his address the chief Guest highly appreciated the performance of the Cadets and appealed them to excel further in sports and bring pride to own institution, State and Nation. In this meet Cadet Ravi Kumar was awarded as the Champion Athlete among Seniors while Cadet Shambhju Kumar and Cdt Vicky Kumar were the Junior Champions with equal points. Overall the Gomati House received shield as the winners-up followed by Cauvery House as Runners up among seniors. Yamuna House stood first and received trophy followed by Godavari House among juniors. In this closing ceremony more than 600 cadets of eleven hostels presented a spectacular show of displays like Karate, Mass PT, Pyramid, Yoga, Aerobic, Band, fan fare and Beating the Retreat. This meet was inaugurated on 07 Dec 17 and Commander N Santhosh Kumar, Administrative Officer, Sainik School Bhubaneswar was the Chief Guest. The whole event was conducted under the guidance of Commander Sushil Kumar, Vice-Principal. The programme was co-ordinated by Shri Bigheneswar Pradhan, Senior Master, Sports Secretary Mr. AK Mukherjee and CHM Ajit Kumar.
